EMPIT Opens Office in Lingen

Why Lingen Is the Right Location for Pipeline Inspection Growth

EMPIT has opened its fourth office at the Nord Neun campus in Lingen (Ems), Germany. The new location positions EMPIT directly in one of Europe's most important regions for pipeline infrastructure — with direct access to key transmission and distribution network operators across northern Germany and the Netherlands.

For a company specializing in non-invasive pipeline inspection, proximity to operators and field deployment sites is critical. Lingen offers exactly that: a strategic base at the intersection of major gas and oil pipeline corridors, combined with a growing technical workforce and strong regional industry ties.

The new office adds to EMPIT's existing locations in Berlin (headquarters), Hamburg, and upcoming facilities — creating a network that supports inspection projects from planning through field execution.

What the Lingen Office Brings to EMPIT's Inspection Capabilities

The Lingen location is designed to strengthen three core areas of EMPIT's operations:

  • Regional sales and service — faster response times and direct customer support for pipeline operators in the Emsland region, Lower Saxony, and cross-border projects in the Netherlands and Belgium.
  • Field deployment coordination — the office serves as a staging and logistics hub for CMI inspection campaigns, reducing mobilization time for onshore and industrial pipeline projects.
  • Talent acquisition — Lingen's strong engineering community and proximity to technical universities make it an ideal location to grow EMPIT's team of inspection specialists, data scientists, and field engineers.

The office is led by Julien Rubbers, Director of Business Development, who brings deep experience in pipeline integrity management and customer relationship development across Europe.

CMI Technology: Inspection Without Interruption

EMPIT's patented Current Magnetometry Inspection (CMI) technology enables the inspection of buried pipelines entirely from above ground — without requiring excavation, service interruption, or pigging. The system uses multi-frequency current measurement and spectrum analysis to detect and locate active corrosion, coating defects, and stray current interference with sub-millimeter precision.

From the Lingen office, EMPIT will coordinate CMI deployments for pipeline networks in dense urban environments, environmentally sensitive zones, and complex industrial facilities — including refineries, chemical plants, and airport fuel systems.

With inspection capabilities covering steel, ductile iron, and grey iron pipelines at depths up to 7 meters onshore and 50 meters offshore, the Lingen hub supports projects that were previously considered unpiggable or inaccessible.
