EMPIT at Ozwater’26 in Brisbane: Current Magnetometry Inspection for Australia’s Water Sector
EMPIT exhibited at Ozwater’26, Australia’s premier water conference and exhibition. Organised by the Australian Water Association, Ozwater brought together more than 5,500 attendees and over 225 exhibitors for three days of technical exchange, innovation, and collaboration across the water sector.
CMI at Ozwater: Pipeline Inspection for Water Infrastructure
EMPIT brought Current Magnetometry Inspection (CMI) to Australia’s water sector. Brisbane provided the opportunity to demonstrate how CMI’s innovative inspection technology applies directly to the challenges water infrastructure operators face every day.
Water infrastructure operators face many of the same challenges as their counterparts in gas: ageing networks, incomplete records, sections that are difficult to access, and the need for reliable condition data to inform maintenance and rehabilitation decisions. CMI’s non-contact, above-ground approach delivers precise pipeline mapping data and corrosion risk assessment from the surface, without shutdowns, without excavation, and without disrupting supply.
At the EMPIT booth, conversations with Australian water network operators confirmed growing interest in non-intrusive pipeline inspection methods that can provide comprehensive corrosion assessment data across large stretches of buried infrastructure. For operators managing critical drinking water assets, the ability to assess pipeline condition without excavation is not just a cost advantage. It is increasingly an operational and public acceptance requirement.
Thank You
Thank you to the Australian Water Association for a well-organised Ozwater’26. The water sector is a growing focus for EMPIT, and Brisbane confirmed that the conversation has real momentum.
