Determine smallest pipeline movement with mm accuracy

PIPE DEPTH ASSESSMENT
A HIGH RESOLUTION SERVICE DESIGNED TO RECEIVE DEPTH DATA FOR EVERY 1 CM OF PIPELINE
CHALLENGE
Third-party interference is widely documented as being a major cause of damage to buried pipelines. Often, heavy agricultural cultivation of the land has resulted in changes in the cover of the pipeline with soil. Mostly, pipeline locators are used to determine pipeline depth. Due to the measuring mode, these only allow a point-by-point recording of the depth of cover (DoC), which means that pipelines are currently only surveyed with a measuring grid of 50 meters. To be truly accident-preventive and to be able to efficiently plan DoC measures for the pipelines, continuous information about the pipeline depth is required. Consequently, the use of measuring equipment is required that provides depth information for each cm of steel and has a measurement uncertainty of maximum 20 mm.
SOLUTION
With CMI, EMPIT provides the most accurate technique for DOC-measurements in the market at the moment. CMI is the state-of-the art certified survey technique for Depth of Cover assessments even in the toughest environments. Our customers use the pipe depth assessment to ensure that they know the correct pipeline depth at every coordinate. Locations where the Depth of Cover is reported critical may have an increased likelihood of damage occurring from third parties and the operator can implement mitigation measures.
KEY POINTS
- Advanced Depth of Cover survey with a maximum error of 20 mm
- Works in the toughest conditions | parallel pipes, high impact areas, mountains
- Seamless capture of Depth of Cover | measurement grid up to 1 cm
- Protect operators in the best possible way in disputes with third parties
Receive seamless depth of cover data in 3D-format
