Third-party interference is widely documented as being a major cause of damage to buried pipelines. Therefore, precise and seamless geographical and depth information are vital for the operational safety of every pipeline. A Depth of Cover (DoC) survey determines the cover between the top of the pipeline and the ground level, road bed, river bottom, or sea bottom, as applicable and complies with local, state, and federal regulations.

EMPIT provides an advanced and certified survey technique for Depth of Cover analysis even in the toughest environments. Our customers use the pipe depth assessment to ensure that they know the correct pipeline depth at every coordinate. Locations where the Depth of Cover is reported critical may have an increased likelihood of damage occurring from third parties and the operator can implement mitigation measures.
