Does your city suffer pipeline bursts? It doesn’t have to. CMI is the first non-invasive inspection technology that is capable to assess pipeline conditions of cast iron pipelines remotely. Especially freshwater pipelines made out of cast iron are nowadays used to distribute water to cities and end-users. The promise that the asset lifetime of cast iron pipelines is up to 100 years couldn't be kept very often, and pipeline's material fails even after 30 years of being in service. For municipalities and water pipeline operators it is crucial to know in which condition the pipelines are, and how long the pipeline can be operated safely. This is where CMI comes in place.

  • Condition assessment of freshwater pipelines
  • Probability of failure analysis
  • Replacement prioritization of inspected pipelines
  • Recommend actions for pipeline operators
  • Asset lifetime analysis

Together with a pipeline operator from Switzerland, SWG Grenchen, EMPIT has published an article that gives insights about the experiences made with CMI.
