Zinc anodes

Cathodic protection is a method used to prevent corrosion of metal structures such as pipelines, by connecting them to a metal with a more negative electrochemical potential, typically zinc or aluminum. Zinc anodes are used in this method of cathodic protection because they corrode preferentially to the metal being protected, sacrificing themselves in the process. As a result, the metal being protected is less likely to corrode, ensuring the longevity of the pipeline and protecting it from potential leaks or failures
