Ductile iron inspection
Ductile iron inspection is a process used to evaluate the structural integrity and quality of ductile iron pipes, which are commonly used in various applications such as water distribution systems, wastewater systems, gas pipelines, and more. It is essential to inspect ductile iron pipes regularly to ensure they are functioning as intended, free from corrosion, cracks, and other damage. The inspection of ductile iron pipes may include current magnetometry inspection (CMI), visual inspections, thickness measurements, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, and other techniques to detect and evaluate the condition of the pipes. These inspections can be performed in-service or out-of-service, with the frequency and scope of the inspections determined based on factors such as the age and condition of the pipes, operating conditions, and the severity of the environment in which they are used.
