Direct Current Potential Drop (DCPD)

DCPD (Direct Current Potential Drop) Surveys are techniques used in pipeline inspection to assess the cathodic protection system and measure the electrical potential difference along a pipeline. The survey helps to detect potential issues in the pipeline's coating, insulation, and other areas that might cause corrosion and reduce the lifespan of the pipeline. The DCPD survey is a non-destructive method and is performed by applying a low DC voltage to the pipeline and measuring the voltage drop along its length. The survey results can be used to determine the effectiveness of the cathodic protection system and help identify areas where maintenance or repair may be needed.
